Start adding value to your internal auditing program
Organisations hoping to comply with any of the International Standards for management systems (e.g. ISO9001, ISO27001) must carry out internal audits. However, the requirements set down by accreditation bodies for auditor courses make little distinction between internal and external audit programs. As a result, many organizations instruct their internal auditors using resources designed for external auditors. Such internal audit programs often fail to develop beyond simple compliance monitoring, and risk becoming ‘box-ticking’ exercises, adding little value to the organisation.
Transform your internal audits and improve your systems
A Guide to Effective Internal Management System Audits provides a model for the management and implementation of internal audits that moves beyond simple compliance to ISO requirements and turns the internal audit into a transformational tool that the organization can use to assist with the management of risk, and implement improvements to management systems. This book shows you how you can transform your internal auditing process to become a tool for development and continual improvement in your management systems.

A Guide to Effective Internal Management System Audits eBook Andrew Nichols
There are not enough good books on management system auditing. Andrew's book gives very good advice. I think this book can greatly benefit an internal audit process. It is readable, not too heavy, not overlong and provides practical examples of helpful tools to apply what it teaches. While its focus is on audits, the subject is using objective qualitative analysis to understand value and manage risk. That is something we can apply in many places.Product details

A Guide to Effective Internal Management System Audits eBook Andrew Nichols Reviews
Very useful book in a practical sense. Learned a lot from it, specifically where Andy pours from his experience into the text to give context and a sense of rationality for a subject well-known for being rigid and abstract. If all auditors embraced this mindset in performing and reporting their audits, people will start to take the process more seriously instead of viewing it as a tick box exercise! 5 stars!
